A compelling testament to his prowess as both a fabricator and an artist is “Embankment.” This impressive sculpture was commissioned as part of a public art initiative by the Cardinia Shire Council and is proudly displayed in Cochrane Park, Koo Wee Rup, Victoria. “Embankment” is a towering masterpiece that ingeniously manipulates hard corten steel boxes, coaxing them into majestic, flowing curves that appear to defy the very laws of gravity.

Tasked with transforming a formidable fourteen-ton chunk of Australian Black Granite, Kalinowski embarked on the creation of “Gaia.” This captivating and surprising form was crafted in situ on Mengler’s Hill, a location that offers breathtaking panoramic views over one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions. The creation of “Gaia” at such an iconic location not only cemented Kalinowski’s reputation but also left a lasting artistic legacy in the heart of the Barossa Valley.
